Role
and Scope
• This program
is designed for
ophthalmologists
who have completed
their basic training
and are interested
in upgrading their
skills in all
specialties
• This course
provides them
with up-to-date
skills to ensure
that diagnosis;
treatment and
surgery are both
accurate & timely.
• This course
involves technical
instruction, hands
on experience
and exposure to
complete patient
care.
At the end of
the course, the
candidate will
be able to attend
to various aspects
of eye care independently..
Course
Outline
The
fellowship period
will involve rotation
in each of the
sub specialties
cornea, glaucoma,
paediatrics, oculoplasty
and retina and
exposure to low
vision aids and
contact lens.
The fellows will
get an opportunity
to manage clinical
OPD, Outreach
Programme and
perform independent
Cataract surgery.
There will be
a two months posting
at our surgical
centre at Alwar
Satellite Clinic.
During the fellowship,
fellows present
cases, journal
articles relevant
to the specialty
at the teaching
session and conduct
seminars.
Stipend
and leave benefits
The
fellows will be
paid stipend during
the period of
fellowship. They
will be allowed
leave benefits
as per the rules
of the Institute.
Ancillary
facilities
The
library is well
equipped with
Videos, CDs and
journals. Access
to the Internet
and on-line databases
like Medline are
also available.
The fellows will
also have an access
to a well-equipped
surgical wet laboratory.
Accommodation
Fellows
are provided shared
bachelor accommodation
in the campus.
Accommodation
is also provided
during rotation
at the ORP center.
