techniques |
Trabeculectomy,
extracapsular

| Posting
schedule |
In
the first three
months the candidate
under goes a rotational
posting in other
sub-specialities
and out reach
programme. The
first three months
constitute the
probation period
during which the
fellows will learn
basic examination
procedures. This
will be followed
by a performance
evaluation; the
fellowship may
be terminated
if the candidate
is found unsuitable.
For the next twelve
months the fellow
will be assigned
to the glaucoma
subspecialty.
The fellows will
get an opportunity
to manage clinical
OPD, Outreach
Programme and
Cataract surgery
at our Alwar Satellite
Clinic for a period
of two months.
During the fellowship,
fellows present
cases, journal
articles relevant
to the specialty
at the teaching
session and conduct
seminars.

| Research |
Fellows
will be required
to publish at
least 2 research
papers/case reports
in peer reviewed
journal along
with presentation
in state and national
conferences
|
| In-patient
care |
The
fellows will be
required to review
the medical records
of all the hospital
patients and present
a summary of the
patient data along
with a treatment
plan. Post-operative
and medical rounds
will start early
in the fellowship,
enabling reporting
on specific assignments.
|
| Stipend
and leave benefits |
The
fellows will be
paid stipend during
the period of
fellowship. They
will be allowed
leave benefits
as per the rules
of the Institute.

The
library is well
equipped with
Videos, CDs and
journals. Access
to the Internet
and on-line databases
like Medline are
also available.

Fellows
are provided shared
bachelor accommodation
in the campus.
