The Vision Enhancement Centre at Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital was developed in the year 2002 with an objective to serve the visually impaired patients by helping them use their residual vision, make them independent and improve quality of life.
The centre is among a handful of comprehensive ones present and functional in entire North India. the spectrum of services offered at the centre cater to address all needs of individuals facing challenges due to low vision.
A variety of services available for patients which support them live their daily life with minimal or no assistance. Some of the services offered are:
Assessment of difficulty level in performing day to day activities
Developing an individualized training programme
Vision assessment and trials of low vision devices
Prescription of devices
Training to use the devices
Counselling and motivation of patients
Referrals for Vocational training, Orientation & Mobility training, Crisis Management programme, Special Computer Training, Special School Admission etc.
Referrals to Early Intervention Centre for children with multiple Disability (Cortical Visual Impairment, Cerebral Palsy)
In addition to services, vision enhancement devices are also available at the centre as part of customised order amoxil to patients in need of such support for carrying out activities of their daily life.
