Refractive Laser Surgery and LASIK Services

LASIK is the most commonly performed laser eye surgery to correct vision in people who have myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism. The word “LASIK” is an acronym for “laser-assisted in situ keratomileuses.” The LASER basically corrects the refractive error by re-shaping the cornea to incorporate the spectacle correction onto the cornea. LASIK surgery is essentially pain-free and takes only about 15 minutes for both eyes. The results — improved vision without eyeglasses or contact lenses — begin immediately after the procedure and vision usually continues to improve and stabilize over a few days. At SCEH we have 100 percent fellowship trained Cornea and Refractive surgery specialists who have together performed over 10,000 successful procedures over the last 20 years! We have a long term follow up of LASER surgeries performed over 10-15 years back with very good outcomes.
